Deep Purple
If my hair is dyed a deep red, will it fade to purple?
I recently was told this after going to a high end salon, but I think it's a load of crap. The color I was asking for was a deep purple plum color, and this is what I got, a dark cherry red.
This is really disappointing then, because I was told they would dye it purple and it would eventually fade to red.
no the red wont fade to purple. but the color it does fade to completely depends on your previous color. if you was all over brown, it will just fade to a reddish brown. but if you had highlights, if they didnt use a filler, then the highlights could possibly fade to a red-orangish color. but if you went to a high end salon, im pretty sure they knew to use a filler, so you should be fine. but just keep in mind that red will fade faster than any other color you can get. because the red molecules are too big to penetrate the hair shaft so they fade faster. next time though, i would try to find a picture of the color you want so you can show the hairstylist so you will get the color you want next time.
